Peddler’s Village Festival

peddlers village scarecrow competition festival

Fall festivals have begun popping up all over the country.  These are great family events that are easy to travel to and oftentimes have local campgrounds nearby.  The Peddler’s Village Scarecrow Competition is being held in Lahaska, Pennsylvania now through October 25.  This is a great family-style festival where featured scarecrow creations are displayed outdoors and complete for more than $4900 in cash awards.  The categories will be the Keystone Kros, Extraordinary Contemporary, Traditional/Whirligig, KidsOnly!, Quite the Character, and Group Crow.  Check out their website for more information.

Great to know this about Iowa City. I was writing about Iowa today for my work and I was trying to find ways to promote the state -- I think it must be a great state for bicycling.
