October in the Shenandoah Valley
September 28, 2009
October holds some fun fall weekends throughout the Shenandoah Valley in northwestern Virginia. The weekend of October 3 is packed with three major events. Oktoberfest in Strasburg includes a 1.5 mile hike along the Shenandoah River, traditional activities for children and adults, a business expo and even a street dance. The 24th Annual Country Fair and Auction in Bristow has auctions and entertainment to benefit Youth For Tomorrow, a residential youth home and school for at-risk teenagers. The host of this event is Joe Gibbs. The Fall Color Weekends is at Veramar Vineyard in Clarke County and will celebrate wine tastings and the beautiful fall colors of the Valley.
