Books About Hiking in Pittsburgh

trail hikeOutdoors editors for the Tribune-Review, Bob Frye, has written a couple of books about hiking spots in southwestern Pennsylvania.  Inspired by casual hikes with his grandfather, Frye has taken his love for the outdoors and created guides to hiking throughout the 104-mile area of western Pennsylvania.  The book, “Best Hikes Near Pittsburgh” includes 35 area trails; another of his books, “Best Easy Day Hikes: Pittsburgh” will be released September 1.  Both books include directions, maps and information on the trails, including GPS coordinates, difficulty levels and color photos of each area.  Read the full article by Brad Pedersen of the Tribune-Review News Service.

Great to know this about Iowa City. I was writing about Iowa today for my work and I was trying to find ways to promote the state -- I think it must be a great state for bicycling.
